Teeth Whitening While Pregnant or NursingOne of the questions I get asked most often is "Is teeth whitening safe during pregnancy?" Many women while pregnant yearn to do something for themselves and look to teeth whitening as a great solution.
The short answer is that most hydrogen based products are deemed safe during pregnancy since it metabolizes quickly. Of course, you should always consult with your physician for advice. However, I tend to agree with Yiming Lee who says "We don't have any evidence that bleaching your teeth will pose a significant risk to you or your baby. But we don't have enough data to say it's safe, either."
After all, when I was young saccharin and aspartame were considered safe sugar substitutes. It wasn't until years later that the side effects of these substitutes were realized.
Teeth whitening with peroxide products while breastfeeding is a different story altogether. Most experts widely agree it is probably not a good idea or recommend a natural alternative. My take on it is this, why take a chance on peroxide when there are natural alternatives available? Ever since the 8th grade, I have been obsessed with my smile. Why wouldn’t I be? After years of braces and endless orthodontist appointments, I finally got my braces taken off – the night before senior picture day. Needless to say, I have a toothy grin in the yearbook, and have been meticulously whitening and flossing ever since.
In the past few years, I’ve tried everything: whitening strips, professional whitening trays, GoSmile- the only thing I never tried is an in-office whitening procedure because frankly, I can’t afford it.

When the timer rang, I excitedly removed the LED light, took out the dial, and saw that I was a shade 2! I got 5 whole shades lighter in 20 minutes.

Sweet Charity Cake Event for SCV Youth Project
On April 21, 2012, Whitening Lightning was proud to sponsor the 4th Annual Sweet Charity Cake Auction benefiting SCV Youth Project www.helpnothassle.org . What an amazing event to help an organization that focuses on helping kids society often leaves behind.
Kim Goldman, Executive Director of SVC Youth Project was present to see the event she dreamed up eclipse her highest expectations. Other attendees included board members Jackie MacDougall, Jerri Goldman, and Jerry Citarella along with MADtv's own Andrew Bowen.
The cakes were spectacular including an Arctic habitat for penguins created by Jill's Cakes for KHTS 1220AM, an Eat More Chikin themed cake for Chik Fil A and of course, Whitening Lightning's entry, our logo brought to life in the bakery of Kokalita Cakes.
Whitening Lightning especially enjoyed participating in this event since the funds do so much great work in our own community. Many local families are touched by SCV Youth Project each week. They are truly making a difference in our great community!

The Super Booster Pen is as easy as they say it is. All I had to do was turn the bottom of the pen (the way you would turn a lip stick) and the product came out at the end, I painted it on the front of my teeth, smiled, and let it dry. I have been using this product for a few weeks. Some days I forget to apply, but hey I am human. By now I can see a big difference in the whiteness of my teeth.
